What ARIA is
ARIA is a set of extra labels you can put on any element. Powerful, and easy to misuse.
ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) is a set of attributes that change what the accessibility tree says about an element.
It adds roles (what it is), properties (like its name) and states (like expanded or pressed).
ARIA changes only what's announced. It adds no behaviour, no keyboard support and no styling.
<div role="button">Forge</div>
<!-- announced as “Forge, button”…
but Tab skips it and Enter does nothing -->- In the result it's just text: ARIA adds no button look, either.
